People talk about work/life balance as if the two are separate - I firmly believe that work is part of life and should be treated as such. That's why I run a campaign called 'Good Jobs - good for health and good for business', encouraging London employers to make their jobs good. I myself work in a lovely glass building overlooking the Thames called City Hall, home of the Greater London Authority: the job isn't perfect but the choices I'm able to make about my work every day, my supportive manager and the space outside to eat my sandwiches with my friends at lunchtime certainly make my working life worth living.
If you don't like or disagree with something I write, please don't blame the Mayor... This blog is my personal take on the world of good jobs and doesn't necessarily represent the views of the GLA or the Mayor. I'd love to hear from you though, agree or disagree.
